2e manche Shannonville (long track)

La pilote Geneviève Lesieur a pris le départ à la 11e place dans la catégorie PRO 600 lors de cette 2e manche du championnat R.A.C.E. À cause d’un départ moyen, elle s’est retrouvée en queue de peloton, mais après quelques tours et des efforts acharnés, elle a réussi à terminer à la 10e place tout en ayant resserré l'écart entre elle et le pilote qui la précédait.

Lesieur se dit très satisfaite de son résultat: «L'important pour moi est que je prends confiance et que je suis de plus en plus à l'aise. J'ai également battu mon record personnel sur cette piste de 2,7 secondes, ce qui est majeur, en plus de cumuler un 2e top 10 dans cette catégorie, c'est donc très positif! De bons réglages avaient dû être faits le samedi et, pour la journée des courses, la moto était parfaite. Il y a longtemps que je n'ai pas senti une si belle perfection sur ma machine! Pour cela, je tiens à remercier MobilePG et Accelerated Technologies de leur aide précieuse. J'apprends beaucoup à travailler et écouter ces professionnels de leur domaine.»

La pilote a couru dans une seule classe lors de cette fin de semaine: «Je souhaite pouvoir faire quelques manches du Women's Cup cet été et participer également au Superbike, mais j'ai choisi de mettre toute mon énergie dans une classe que je pourrais compléter en entier au lieu de me partager entre plusieurs, ce qui aide à ma concentration, à me fixer des objectifs et à mon amélioration personnelle.»

Pilot Genevieve Lesieur started 11th on the grid in the PRO 600 Class in the second round of R.A.C.E. Because of an mediocre start, she found herself behind the main party, but after a few turns and hard work, she managed to finish 10th all the while reducing the gap between her and the pilot preceding her.

Lesieur said she was very satisfied with her result: "The important thing for me is that I am getting more confident and comfortable at each race. I also beat my personal record on this track by 2.7 seconds—which is huge—and I garnered a second Top 10 in this category… That's very positive! A lot of set up had to be made on Saturday and the bike was in perfect shape for race day. I have not felt that much beautiful perfection on my machine since a while! I want to thank MobilePG and Accelerated Technologies for their valuable help on this. I learn a lot from these professionals by watching them work and heeding their advice. "

The pilot raced only in one class during this weekend: "I hope to make a few rounds of the Women's Cup this summer and also participate in the Superbike, but I have chosen to put all my energy in a class I could complete entirely instead of splitting myself among several classes. This helps my concentration, and facilitate setting myself objectives and gain personal improvement."

1ERE manche r.a.c.e shannonville

C'est à Shannonville, en Ontario, sur la configuration de la Nelson, qu'avait lieu la première manche du championnat régional R.A.C.E. Même si le temps était menaçant, cette piste se trouve dans une sorte de microclimat et c'est donc sous un soleil radieux que s’est déroulée cette première épreuve.

Lesieur participait à la course Pro600 et partait de la 11e place suite aux qualifications. Après un départ réussi, elle a atteint ses meilleurs temps de la fin de semaine pour terminer au 9e rang : « Ma GSX MobilePG allait vraiment bien, nous avons fait des ajustements majeurs dans les pratiques du samedi et je n'avais jamais roulé de cette façon. Mais tout a bien fonctionné et la moto était très facile à manier! J'ai également testé un nouveau pneu pendant la course, ce qui n'est pas dans mes habitudes, mais le résultat a également été positif. Je n'avais pas roulé sur cette piste depuis 2008 et suis très satisfaite de ce résultat. En fait, c’est la course où je me suis sentie le plus à l'aise depuis mes débuts dans les classes professionnelles. »

Dans la catégorie féminine, Geneviève n'a pas pris part à cette manche puisqu’il y avait seulement 2 concurrentes au départ. Elle a donc choisi de se concentrer sur les courses d'importance pour son cheminement personnel.

First race of the 2010 season
The first round of the 2010 R.A.C.E regional championship took place at Shannonville Motorsports Park (Ontario) on the Nelson configuration.Those who know SMP will tell you that there is a sort of micro-climate in the area, and despite a threatening weather forecast, the first round saw warm temperatures and bright sun.

Lesieur participated in the Pro600 race and slotted into 11th place on the starting grid. After a successful start, she achieved her best time of the weekend and moved up into 9th place at the finish line: "My MobilePG-built GSX-R was working so well, we had made major chassis changes for Saturday practice and I’ve never ridden the bike that way, but it worked well and was very nimble! I tested a new tire during the race, which is not in my habit, but the result was also positive. The last time I rode that layout was in 2008 and I am very satisfied with my result. I feel that in this race I was most at ease since I started in the professional classes.”

Genevieve did not participate in the RACE Women’s Open for this round since only 2 other competitors were present, she chose to focus on the races which are of most importance to her personal achievements.

J'ai compris bien des choses en fin de semaine, en côtoyant des gens d'expérience et surtout des gens qui ont eux aussi couru à des niveaux élevé de compétition et même courent encore...

Quand je me faisais regarder comme si j'étais une conne, c'est parce qu'en fait, c'est pas moi qui comprenait rien!
